What you'll read in this post:
Since the release, Manor Lords developer SlavicMagic has requested help from the Discord community a couple of times.
It started even before the release with a poll about a global mercenary pool. Then after release came a poll about the trader's oversupply mechanic, setting up market stalls by burgage plots with residential extensions and ale consumption.
More recently, there have been polls about Early Access goals in 2024 and the Castle planner.
The latest poll is regarding a new feature called trade transaction log.
What is the trade transaction log?
Greg aka SlavicMagic doesn't go into detail. The poll simply states that "a trade transaction log would be useful."
Coming from over a 1000 hours on Anno 1800, I can only agree with the developer here. There's nothing more annoying than running out of a certain good and not knowing where the heck your supply has gone.
So a trade transaction log would be a log kept on all trade transactions. Well duh, that sounds logical.
So what are we thinking here?
Poll options on the trade transaction log
The poll gets for options to choose from. These options give a little look in what the developer is thinking about implementation.
Those options are:
- Separately for every trading post
- In a large summary for the whole region
- Both of the above
- It's not important
Now, initially I figured 1 and 2 were the same, until I realised that you can build multiple trading posts per region. That means they're definitely different.
To track why your meat supply has dwindled, you need to know which region and which trading post has been selling it.
To do this, having a quick overview of all trade transactions in a large summary is helpful (at least you know it's been traded, not raided).
As soon as that is established, you can then distinguish which trading post is the culprit and disable the trade route.
Poll results
At the time of writing, the poll has been online on Discord for about 30 hours.
Most people agree with my opinion, as with almost 14.000 votes the Both of the above option has won 55% of voters.
Runner ups are the large summary (25%) and separately for trading posts (13%).
That leaves the it's not important option way down at not even 2.000 votes. I guess there isn't much trading going on in their regions...
