Robot Entertainment has released a fresh update - labeled Patch 1.0.11 - for Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, packed with balance tweaks and bug fixes. In this article we'll give you a quick rundown of the most notable changes.
While working on version 1.0.11, developers mainly focused on gameplay adjustments and fixing some bugs. This update follows on the release of patch 1.0.9 last week, which added the new Rift Barricade and Thread rerolls.
Gameplay Tweaks
The gameplay for Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap was changed massively in the previous update. Version 1.0.9 added Thread rerolls as well as a complete overhaul of all the Threads. Developers also made some changes to difficulty and its settings.
In this version 1.0.11, the gameplay again gets a lot of attention.
- Weapon Adjustments:
- Shotgun Sniper: Now clearly shows its damage reduction (15%).
- Hookshot & Spikewall: Faster cooldowns (reduced from 15 to 12 seconds) with Spikewall’s damage bumped from 250 to 300.
- Enemy Behavior:
- Bartholomew is no longer targeted by ranged enemies.
- Troll & Ogre Launchers: Now only launch basic enemy types, removing Mountain Trolls, Armored Ogres, and Fire Ogres.
- Distortion Challenges:
- Bring The Heat now spawns 3 Fire Ogres instead of 2.
- Health and damage boosts for Beefy Bosses, Thick Skin, and Heavy Hitters have been doubled.
- Budget Cuts now starts players off with -4,000 coins.
- New Spawns & Upgrades:
- More enemies appear in Random Onslaught Nodes, now including Healing Flyers.
- Fire and Earth Elementals have been added to Unstable Rifts.
- The Lane Opener now reduces 3 barricades per War Mage instead of just one.
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Orcs Must Die is still a new game, having only been released 3 weeks ago. Finding bugs is going to happen for a while still, which is why it's great that developers at Robot Entertainment have already pushed out 4 updates since release day at January 28th.
Patch 1.0.11 has the most bugfixes in a single update so far. Let's highlight a few:
- Mutual exclusivity is set between Shotgun Sniper and Unconventional Ammo to prevent zero damage issues.
- Frame rate issues on laptops, Xbox disconnect problems, and unavailable lobbies have been addressed.
- Some trap fixes, like the Troll Launcher thread actually getting to launch Troll Archers and multiple traps not firing at the Museum Raining map.

Known Issues Still Under Investigation
They might seem like war mages, but developers can't do magic themselves. A few issues still go unresolved, but are being worked on for a next release.
- Ghostfang can still die instantly in a level.
- Lobby access problems on PC.
- Spawning under the floor.
Aside from these 3, multiple issues with corrupted profiles, crossplay connectivity and unkillable 0HP enemies are still being investigated.
This update reflects Robot Entertainment's ongoing commitment to fine-tuning Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap. Keep an eye out for future patches as these remaining issues get squashed!
