Are you playing the Cattle Country demo but get stuck after winning the hoedown dance? Take a walk!

Update October 29th: A new update to the demo has been released, which solves the 'end of demo' problem:
- Fixed an issue where the demo was ending early after you do the hoedown

Playtonic just released an early demo of their upcoming game Cattle Country.

If you don't know what that is, don't worry. It's not very well known yet. Think of it as a sort of Stardew valley, but... even quirkier? I don't know. The demo is free and it isn't even 400MB to download, so you will just have to try it for yourself

Happy hoedown!

If you've been playing the demo and went to the city, you were invited to join the spring hoedown celebrations. It's actually a minigame like 'country guitar hero', but then simpler.

You pick a partner from the crowd and tell Archibald on the dancefloor that you're ready to go. Music will start and notes will appear.

If you press the right keys at the right time, you will win the hoedown and earn yourself a trophy. The trophy you can sell for 1000 gold, so put your best feet forward!

How to leave the spring hoedown

In the demo version, you seem to be in a loop. After you win the hoedown, the scene opens again with Archibald inviting you to find a partner and let him know you're ready to start the dance.

The only way to leave the hoedown is by taking his advice after you win: "have a safe walk home".

This is a hint: you can just walk back home

To do so, follow the path south from the spring hoedown dance area. Just walk off the screen, a new area will appear.

Follow along the past to the east, walking off the screen again. You'll now be in your home area and can go to sleep if you're tired.

Hoedown is NOT end of demo

Since the October 29 update from Playtonic, the Cattle Country demo does no longer end after finishing the hoedown and going to sleep.

So now, you should probably enjoy as many hoedowns as you can! The trophies are stackable, sellable AND 1000 gold each, so they will give you a massive boost of wealth you can use to buy more Cattle Country goodness!
