How to continue playing Manor Lords in sandbox mode after victory
Posted on May 25, 2024
You've worked hundreds, maybe even thousands of days on your settlements and finally see the Victory screen. Can you continue playing Manor Lords in sandbox mode?
What you'll read in this post:
After a successful run in Manor Lords, nothing is so sweet as being presented with the "Victory!" screen.
I love reading back how many soldiers I killed, against how many I lost. And the amount of days that have passed in which I did all that killing.
Yes, I'm brutal. I know.
But after you win and claim that hard earned victory, what happens next?
Continue in sandbox or finish the game
The victory screen presents you with 2 buttons.
The first one says "Continue playing in sandbox mode". When you use this button, you will be redirected back to the game and you can continue playing with your settlements.
The same rules still apply, so bandits still spawn and raiders still raid.
The second button says "Finish the game". When you use this button, you will be redirected back to the home screen, where you can start a new game of Manor Lords or load an existing game.
Sandbox is bugged
Unfortunately, there's a massive bug in the Sandbox-option.
Every time you use the "Continue playing in sandbox mode" option, Manor Lords will only let you reach the next day.
Presumably each new day, the game checks which victory conditions were set and if those are met, you will be victorious. Victory screen and all.
It's a shame though. It makes it impossible to play a challenge ánd win ánd continue developing, getting to claim and develop all regions simultaneously.
A solution is on the way
The developer of Manor Lords is aware of this issue. Enough mentions have been made on the official Discord channel, trust me.
Even better, a fix has already been developed and released!
Unfortunately, that is only the beta release (0.7.960). It means 2 things:
- This release, and all the changes, is only available for Steam users;
- You can only benefit from these changes if you choose to install and play the beta-release.
For the general public, this bug will remain in the game for a little while longer. XBox users and regular Steam players will still be on version 0.7.955 which, for an Early Access release, is very playable indeed.
But if you do happen to be a Steam user and don't mind tinkering around with the settings a little, you can benefit from all those juicy fixes SlavicMagic released! You can read our posts on both the 0.7.960 release and the 0.7.965 release to catch up on all the changes!
