What is Olive oil in Citadelum and how do you get it?

In Citadelum, you can't produce all the resources you can see in the Resources tab of your Management overview. 

But, all resources to play a certain part in the game. These are all involved in trade routes with other cities. Some of these resources are even required as objectives. And of course, Olive oil is one of them. I mean, Citadelum is a Roman style city builder after all!

What is Olive oil in Citadelum

In Citadelum, Olive oil is one of these resources you can't produce. Which is somehow strange, as the mediterranen part of Europe is great for growing olives. 

But still, the only way to get olive oil in Citadelum, is to buy it using a trade route.

Being able to produce olive oil would require an Olive tree orchard and some kind of Olive press, which is not available in Citadelum just yet. Who knows, maybe this will be added at some point!

What is Olive oil used for in Citadelum

Unlike a few of the other unproducable goods, olive oil actually does play a part in Citadelum. 

Olive oil is used in a mission as one of the objectives. This is in mission 7, The fates will find a way, where you will have to send 750 olive oil to Rome to achieve victory. 

Other than that: Olive oil is not required by any level of Plebeians or Patricians to level up to a higher housing level, nor does it serve as an input resource for any kind of production building.

Which cities trade in Olive oil

You can trade for olive oil on 2 maps in the main Citadelum campaign. In mission 8, most of the cities are selling, because one of the mission objective is to ship 750 olive oil to Rome.
