The Killer Sudoku puzzle
Tips to solve
Are you stuck? Here are a few pointers to get you going.
- There is only 1 combination for sum 4 to pencil in at the start. There's also a combination of 3 for sum 20, of which the 4 is already provided. This leaves a combination of 2 for sum 16. You know what that means!
- You can use the 45-rule on all three blocks in the middle column.
- Pencil in the 8 open fields of the MRRC (Middle Row, Right Column). Start with the combination for sum 6, which only has 1 possible combination (the 4 is already in use in this block). The 6 in MRLC will help you defining sum 9 in MRRC.
- Pencil in all the 8 open fields in MRLC. You can define sum 13 using line matching on the top line of this block.
- Using row matching on numbers 3, 4 and 5, you can pencil in the MRMC.
- Next, you can use column matching on the whole middle column. You now have the cross filled in, leaving only 4 combinations pencilled.
