Tips to solve
Are you stuck? Here are a few pointers to get you going.
- There are only 3 combinations you can pencil in straight away: for sums 4 and 16
- In Top Row, Left Column there is a sum 13 with only 1 possible combination. Now you van use the row strategy to pencil in the sum 8 in TRMC.
- Fill in the sum 13 in TRRC (spanning down) and sum 5 in TRMC.
- Staying in TRMC, fill in sum 11 and pencil sum 14. Use the 45-rule to fill in the remaining field.
- Fill the combinations for sum 4, 7 and 14 in TRRC.
- In TRLC pencil in the remaining 2 fields in the combination of 3 for sum 14. Fill in sum 6 and use the 45-rule to fill in the last remaining field in the block.
- The 45 rule is pretty handy in this Sunday's puzzle. You can use it on every block, except for the center one.
- By now, you will have put something in every field on the Top Row. Still a fair few combinations are pencilled in, but I’m sure you can take it from here!
